Ellisys Adds Compliance Test Support for USB Power Delivery 3.0
Extensive Compliance Test Suite Ensures Next-Generation USB Power Delivery 3.0 Interoperability
Geneva, Switzerland — May 31, 2017 — Ellisys has added feature support for the new USB Power Delivery 3.0 specification to the Examiner™ Compliance Test Suite, an application add-on to its widely adopted Ellisys Explorer™ 350 Protocol Test and Analysis platform.
The USB Power Delivery 3.0 specification, released in January, is a major update, adding advanced battery management, protocol optimizations, security commands for authentication, and various other power and protocol enhancements.
The Examiner Compliance Test Suite is used by USB developers worldwide, at periodic USB compliance workshops, and at authorized Independent Test Labs (ITLs), where it is deployed in the USB certification process under guidelines provided by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF). The new USB Power Delivery 3.0 tests have been validated by Ellisys engineers at the last several USB-IF workshops and are actively pacing the development of the USB Power Delivery 3.0 Compliance Test Specification. Ellisys engineers are actively involved in the development of the test specification.

The Examiner USB Power Delivery 3.0 Update is available for immediate purchase, and is provided to existing customers (customers that have purchased the USB Power Delivery 2.0 suite) at no cost. The Power Delivery compliance suite includes tests for PD 2.0, PD 3.0, as well as Type-C™. Ordering information is as follows:
