Support - Runtime Installation
Linux Runtime
Type the following commands in a terminal:
cd ~
curl -OLJ https://downloads.ellisys.com/Ellisys.Runtime.x86_64.AppImage
chmod +x Ellisys.Runtime.x86_64.AppImage
./Ellisys.Runtime.x86_64.AppImage
A selector screen should then appear to select the app to install and run.
Note: The AppImage should be placed in a stable location as file associations and launcher files will link to the location where it is first executed.
macOs Runtime
Type the following commands in a terminal:
cd ~/Desktop
curl -OLJ https://downloads.ellisys.com/Ellisys.Runtime.dmg
The above command will download a .dmg file on the desktop. Once downloaded, double-click the file and copy the .app to the Applications folder. Once copied, run the Ellisys application.
Migrating your settings
Users should ideally migrate their Ellisys Application’s Settings from the old (Windows) environment to the new environment. Settings store various information such as display settings, devices information, security information, recording options, window/pane layouts, etc.
See Section 6 in the User Guide (“Workspaces and Layouts”) for details. The User Guide is accessible from the Help menu. A summary of the process is below.
- In the old (Windows) environment, from the File menu, select Import and Export Settings.
- Select Export Settings.
- Create a name for the file and then export your current workspace file by selecting Finish.
- In the new environment, from the File menu, select Import and Export Settings.
- Select Import Settings.
- Import your saved workspace file by selecting Finish.
